Le SCAR a été conçu pour répondre aux besoins spécifiques du United States Special Operations Command (SOCOM), le commandement des opérations spéciales de l'armée américaine.

En France on retrouve le SCAR au sein du RAID et du COS. Le SCAR se présente en deux versions, le SCAR-L (pour Light) appelé Mk-16 par les forces armées des États-Unis et le SCAR-H (pour Heavy) (Mk-17).

Cette réplique airsoft sous licence FN Herstal (marquage laser sur le corps) est la version L en Tan du célèbre SCAR. On retrouve un finition propre avec une conception full ABS. Dotée d'une crosse réglable et repliable, de rails picatinny sur l'avant et sur le dessus de la réplique, elle dispose également d'un sélecteur de tir ambidextre.
