Supervision of Airsoft practice
Airsoft is a leisure activity akin to a team sport or realistic simulation. To enjoy it fully and legally, it's essential to respect the fundamental safety measures set out in French airsoft regulations.
OPS-Store makes it a point of honor to offer you products that comply with French legislation, in terms of airsoft replicas, accessories and protective elements. Here you'll find a number of important points to bear in mind, such as the need to wear eye protection during airsoft games, compliance with legal power thresholds for airsoft replicas, the minimum age required for airsoft, the requirements for playing areas and, finally, a few tips to keep in mind at all times.
Eye protection
- Always wear standardized eye protection, even off the field, in the playing area
- Opt for the EN166-compliant eyewear we offer
- Mesh goggles are not authorized, as they do not comply with legislation
Power ratings
- Airsoft replicas over 2 joules are banned from sale in France
- Each field can impose its own, more restrictive internal rules on the power of airsoft replicas (while complying with the legal standard)
Legal age
- The sale of airsoft replicas over 0.07 joules is forbidden to minors under 18
- From the age of 18, airsoft replicas can be purchased and used up to 2 joules, subject to basic rules of use
Game zones
- It is only possible to play on private or community grounds
- Replicas must be transported unloaded, without batteries connected, and in a special bag/case
- Inform local authorities if you are organizing a private event
Good to know
- Never modify an airsoft replica to exceed legal limits
- Store your airsoft replicas securely and inaccessible to children
- Be vigilant in the event of resale or loan
- We strongly recommend that you wear a face guard
